Hello Family and Friends,
It has been one month since I updated the blog. We have been very busy, which is no excuse, just a reason...
I have been told by a few that these updates are a blessing. Thank you so much!! It helps me connected to you knowing that you are keeping a close eye on us here in South Dakota.
The most recent happening was last night. Our little boy had to go to the ER. He had a fever that started Sunday afternoon. By 12am his fever was 102.4 F. We were treating him with Tylenol, but his little body wasn't responding well. Last night at 7:30pm his fever was 103.0. We continued to give him Tylenol and cooled him down with wipes. He stayed cool for a little while, took a nap and was back up with a burning fever. When he got up I did not take hi temp, just got a cold rag and was soaking his little head. We did this for about 45 min, then took his temp and it was 103.2 after having cooled him down from wherever he was temperature wise. We called Mom and Dad and they advised we take him to the ER. John didn't want to take him so we were going to monitor him through the night as long as his fever did not increase. John picked him up to change his diaper and realized just how hot he was and said off the ER we go. WE were at the ER from 11:30pm until 2:00am. The good news is they gave him a different kind of fever reducer and it worked!! The bad news is the Dr. was concerned about a particularly high blood level. He thought that it might be due to bone growth, but said it was too high even for that. He wanted us to take him to another Dr. to check the levels again. I will be taking him to a Pediatrician today at 4 PM. When he has the Motrin on board he is fine, but the minute it is time to re-dose he starts getting his fever back. He is also sleeping a ton. So please pray for Lochlan that nothing be wrong, but that if there is something wrong with him that the Dr. would be able to find the problem and fix it.
John started actually working at the Fire Dept.!!! We are very excited that he has this job. What a blessing from God. He works 24 hr. shifts, which are a little difficult for me to get used to, but we are managing magnificently. He was also officially promoted to SSG of the Army!!! His father pinned him, which is an honor. I will be able to pin the next rank on him. I am so excited for him. He is moving forward in both his careers!!! Yeah for him!!
After John was done drilling that Saturday, we all went to Jen's house and had tater tot casserole. Also joining us was Clausing, who's hat Lochlan wore. We had a great time.
Lochlan saying Dadada
When John is working it is just Lochlan and I at home. As a family we enjoy going to the park so just Lochlan and I went, but it just wasn't the same! It was majorly chilly outside, so Lochlan wore for the Alpaca coat given to him by Alfonso and Sandra at his baby shower. He was so warm!! He also enjoys making a mess in the kitchen. He discovered popcorn, and wanted the floor to have some too!!
Oh!! How I love a mess!!!
Want to join me??
First time for the Alpaca coat
Going for the collar!!!
Lochlan has decided to be a roller so far. He has also just begun to try to pull himself up. It isn't really working, because we don't have any furniture for him to pull himself up with.

Spreading it about
We also visited Juli. She is living on John's Dad's Girlfriend's farm. Patty is taking such wonderful care of Juli, and we are so thankful for that. We heard that they thought that Juli was having mini strokes and that her coordination and mobility were greatly reduced. We went to visit her just in case she thought she could die without us coming and seeing her again. Lochlan LOVES animals, and got a kick out of playing with Juli. Pulling hair and ears was a common theme. He still doesn't understand 'Gentle' yet.
HUNTING SEASON HAS STARTED!!!!! John was soooo excited to go Pheasant hunting this year. He hadn't been pheasant hunting since his senor year of high school. Pops came down with Abe (the bird dog). They had a really good time. Pops back was out while he was here, so he only got to go out twice. When John came home with his first bird Lochlan was not too sure about it. He would try to touch the feathers, then pull his hand back at the last second. He got over his hesitation quickly and proceeded to try and rip the feathers out!!! It was a good time.

Rolling for the camera!!
When my family and I used to live in Mexico, we loved this panera style bread. The Bolillo. I recently made them and Lochlan got a kick out of them. We would give him one and he would much for about 30 minutes. Just having a grand ol' time.
In Aberdeen one of the main trick or treat routes for little kids is down Main street from 3pm to 5pm. The shops that participate have an orange sign that says "Trick or Treat Here". We took Lochlan and he had so much fun watching all the other kids!! He just stared and stared!! His favorite item was a pencil. He still loves to chew on it. He wouldn't let it go. It is in the pictures.
The 19th of October 19 John turned 26!!! We had a little 3 man birthday party. I baked John a Chocolaty Chocolate Cake. It was Lochlan first time for cake and frosting. We had a good time. I wish that I had been able to at least round up some family, but maybe next time.
Lochlan loves to laugh at John's "karate" moves. John can do the moves and make the noises and Lochlan will make noises right back at him!! It is so fun to watch them.
Lets squeal at Daddy
And of course a month can not pass without us going to the park!!! Grandma Brenda gave Lochlan the cutest snow suit. We were finally able to use it. It wasn't snowing, but it was blisteringly cold. Lochlan especially likes to ride on Daddy's shoulders. So here are some pics of our park adventures.
He's mine, you can't have a ride!!
Of course, having a blast, how about you??
Up, up, and away!
All bundled up and ready to go to the park!!
Here's me lookin' at you!!
This is my throne...
Hi everyone, wish you were here!!!!
