Well, Just a few weeks have passed since the "catch up letter". Some GREAT NEWS!!!!!! John passed his written NREMT-P test!!! Yeah!!! So he is now nationally certified and recognized as a Paramedic! So wonderfully awesome. ON the 12th of this month he has a drug test and a stress test for the Aberdeen Fire Department hiring process. As soon as he clears those he is to start ASAP at the firehouse. Such a huge load has been taken off. What a relief to have this process finally coming to an end. It will have been 1 1/2 years since we started this journey. What huge ups and downs. And to know that that was just the beginning of our lives as married individuals is, I would have to say, slightly intimidating. As long as God is along for the ride, What could go wrong??? ;)
Lochlan making clacking noises
So we were in Fargo for John's testing and we had a wonderful visit and stay at Jen's house. What a blessing to have some where to go that does not cost and to also have access to a kitchen and a separate room for Lochlan. What a blessing.
From Fargo we meandered our way down to John D's house in Doran, MN. Pops bought this pony name Clint for Lochlan before Lochlan was born. ( We still need to have the talk about Grandparents buying pets for the Grandbabies without talking to the parents...) Clint needless to say was quite ornery when we were first introduced to him a year ago. He even tried to bite John to prove big things do come in little packages!!! So you can imagine just how adamant I was about Lochlan NOT getting on Clint until well into the future( years, decades....). Pops has diligently been working with Clint and he is now quite docile, although I personally am still unsure about the whole matter. So, lo and behold, Lochlan got his first pony ride about a week ago and had a BLAST!!! He squealed, patted, and pulled Clint and had a wonderful time doing it. Of course he was in one of his cute white outfits, which now is cute and not white. He loved it and I loved watching him enjoy the event.
Lochlan enjoying Clint
We have actually been able to spend some quality time at our new apartment in Aberdeen. Fleshing it out, so to speak. It is beginning to feel like home.
Lochlan "dancing" in the living room
We all enjoy going to the park so Lochlan can swing. He has such a good time. He pretty much loves doing anything outside and with animals. In my imaginings we have a little hobby farm and I see him out in the yard tottering about have a great time with the wind in his hair and dirt in his mouth. Isn't that just a sweet picture???
On Saturday the university here in town, North Western University, had it's homecoming football game and they had a parade down Main St. Apparently it is quite the to do, since there was even a HS Marching band from Rapid City, SD. That is about 5-6 hours away from Aberdeen. The parade was about 2 hours long. It was so fun to see and hear all the marching bands. And as an added bonus we were right by the judge's table, so every band played for "us". Lochlan loved it. He wasn't even phased by how loud the percussion parts of the bands were as they walked by us. He even started "singing" with them. I couldn't hear him, but I could feel his chest humming/vibrating, and his mouth was open. There were parade floats and the whole gambit.
Lochlan watching the Marching Band
We had another first, Lochlan fell over and knocked his head on a toy. Had his first goose egg. You can't really see it in the picture, but it was quite a looker.
We visited a church today and had a good time. We felt so welcome and loved. The worship and the sermon were right on target. Lochlan was at a nursery for his second time. We also drove around the country getting the lay of the land and scoping out any possible candidates for a hobby farm. Right now Lochlan and Daddy are playing Xbox. We are having a very relaxing day!! It was so good to touch base with you again, Love Elizabeth
Saying hello to everyone!!
