The Aberdeen Birthday Party!!!!

The beginning of Lochlan's party day had Pops and Patty taking care of Lochlan for us!! We were able to set up while they watched him!! They were awesome! Of course, when Pops is taking care of Lochlan he gets to ride in his dump truck...

We had such a great time celebrating Lochlan's 1st birthday. John had the idea that he wanted to make it a pool party so we had it at the Best Western 'Ramkota' Hotel here in Aberdeen, SD. Most of our young life-life group were able to attend. It was so loud inside the pool area and the water was sooo warm!! The kids loved it!

Home made chili, ordered pizza, cake and snacks were the menu of the day. Lochlan loved swimming and eating/destroying his cake!! The Kessler's cake was beautiful, but not nearly as artistic as the one Auntie Beckers and Ferber made for him the month before!!

Lochlan is finally getting the idea about gifts...The wrapping paper is a blast!! He really enjoys his toys now, but when it is time for the wrapping paper to come off, well, nothing tops that!

He seem to be able to tell something was going to happen because he absolutely refused to go down for his nap!! He was in his crib for about 2 hours just playing, not sleeping!! He did really well considering he had no nap and had gone to be late the night before!!

Seeing my little boy have so much fun with the people that were able to be there to celebrate and support him was amazing and knowing that they are just part of his support group is such a blessing!! He is growing up and it is so much more than I could have ever imagined!!
